We are A:
Hybrid Martial Art: This is a Martial Arts system that incorporates techniques and theories
from several Martial Arts.
We Are Not:
Mixed Martial Arts: (MMA) Is a combat *Sport* with a wide variety of fighting techniques
which include striking and grappling.
Here in Tazewell Virginia we teach the very best of Chinese and Japanese Martial Arts to give you a well
rounded system. The above systems are the result of 20 years of hard work and research that Sifu Andrew Sheppard has put into
the Hybrid Fighting System we call Hitsujikai
People ask me all the time if I teach UFC fighting and I tell them that I teach Martial Arts *Not Sport*. The
UFC has Rules and Referees. In the street Big John MCcarthy wont be there to pull your attacker off you and cant tap out in
the real world. The UFC is a sport and I refuse to teach my students something that will get them hurt outside of my school.
In 2009 I look forward to opening a school in my area and to let Southwest Virginia see the true beauty
of Wing Chun. I thought I was good before I left and a 70 year old man taught me real fast that I had to go back to the
drawing board.

the enemy with ease and use restrain once we have the enemy on the ground. As he is looking up at us we will know that he
has encountered a hitsujikai student.
